PROLIQ is a liquid stock food produced from lactose manufacture. PROLIQ is produced at four Fonterra manufacturing sites in New Zealand: Kapuni factory in Taranaki, Hautapu in Waikato, Clandeboye in South Canterbury and Edendale in Southland. PROLIQ is sold as a high-value feed option for Fonterra shareholders.
Mother liquor is a generic term applied to a liquid from which crystals have been extracted. In this case, the liquid started as whey and the crystals are pure milk sugar or lactose. Mother liquor is marketed and sold under the trade name PROLIQ.
The objective of this website is to summarize the available published information and practical experience on the use of various stock foods. This is then extrapolated to the use of PROLIQ on farms, to provide a ready reference for its efficient use.
PROLIQ offers a lower cost feed solution. It’s easily incorporated in your herd’s total feed ration.
PROLIQ has an ME value of 12+, so is a high quality feed which directly contributes to more milk in the vat.
PROLIQ is cost effective - it helps to balance the feed budget and keep supplementary feed costs under control.
